From new housing developments to rapid population shifts, Oakville is growing at an unprecedented pace. While growth brings new energy and opportunities, it also creates real pressures on our infrastructure, local traffic, and the unique character of our community.
We cannot afford to let super fast growth negatively affect us. We must actively manage it with smart planning and absolute transparency.
Decisions about zoning, development approvals, and local infrastructure shouldn't be influenced by backroom deals or special interests.

No Hyper scale data centres in residential areas. · Authorized by the Ali Hosny Campaign
I was interviewed by Global News On Sept 16 when Mississauga City Council voted for a one-year pause on new data centres.
Here's the bigger picture: Oakville got there first. On August 11, 2026, Oakville residents pressed our council to pass the very same one-year moratorium (Interim Control By-law).
Now, Mississauga followed.
This is what happens when residents show up. When we bring our voices into town hall, asking about the pressure these massive facilities put on our power grid, our water, and our neighbourhoods, councils listen. And when one community leads, others find the courage to follow.
This was never just an Oakville issue, and it's not just a Mississauga issue. Communities right across Canada are facing the same question, and we're stronger when we stand together and share what works.
Show up. Speak up. Support your neighbours in the next town over. That's how change actually happens.

Ever wondered where your property tax dollars actually go? · Authorized by the Ali Hosny Campaign
It’s easy to look at the total number and feel a bit of sticker shock, but your bill is actually split into three very different parts:
1. Town of Oakville (~44%)
This stays right here in our community. It funds local infrastructure, parks, recreation centers, local roads, libraries, and the fire department.
2. Halton Region (~38%)
This covers larger, regional responsibilities like public health, water and wastewater treatment, waste management, social services, paramedics, and the Halton Regional Police.
3. Education (~18%)
This portion goes straight to the province of Ontario to fund our public and catholic school boards.

From long wait times and missed connections to routes that are needed but not there, getting around town shouldn't be this difficult.

Please vote. Check the candidates' platforms. If you want transparency in Town Hall, look for a candidate who supports a lobbyist and gift registry, open-door meetings, regular updates, and delivering on what they promise.

Which election matters most for your daily life? The municipal one. · Authorized by the Ali Hosny Campaign
While canvassing in Ward 7, I was asked why the municipal election matters when we already vote federally and provincially. Here's my answer: snow plowing, parks, parking, zoning, new development, the fire department, road repairs, even the zebra crossings. Everything that touches your daily life falls under the Town. If you want to keep the quality of life that brought you to Oakville, and you care about what gets built in your neighbourhood, this is the election to show up for.

We live in Oakville because we love Oakville. · Authorized by the Ali Hosny Campaign
Oakville is changing, and Ward 7 is the gold rush, with a lot of land being developed. I'm not happy with how that's going. We need to make sure Oakville keeps the quality of life and standards we chose it for. That means the infrastructure has to be in place before the development kicks in and the people move in, and the essential services have to be properly funded.
